Both the kids have been sick, and this is the first time I've been able to sit down to catch up on the week.
As mentioned in the previous post, Liam had been throwing up, and when this morning started with Liam throwing up again. I decided to call the pediatrician and took him in. Liam was not too excited about being 'check out' by Dr. Kangos, but I explained that he was going to help Mommy figure out why his tummy was hurting and try to make it stop. He stayed sitting in my lap while the Dr looked in his ears, nose, and mouth. He asked if he had any sores in his mouth, and I said yes. Liam hand one sore, and Dr. Kangos said that Hand Foot and Mouth disease. Sounds scary, but he didn't seem that concerned. It's just a common virus that usually presents mouth sores and rashes on the hands and feet. Liam didn't have the rashes, but did have the sore and all the other nausea that went with it.
We went home, and then on Saturday, when Liam was feeling on the up and up, and then Annabelle started coming down with it. She threw up on Nanny Frances and then Phillip had a hard time feeding her that evening while I was gone. He said that Liam showed much empathy towards her. I told him, just like your tummy was hurting, Annabelle's is hurting now.
Sunday we stayed home from church, since we didn't get much sleep the night before and neither of the kids were 100%. Liam still off and on asked me to go to the bathroom with him to throw up. I felt so bad for him. It really did break my heart.
Monday I don't remember much of.
Tuesday, I took this picture of Liam sharing his lunch with Annabelle. I'm glad I took it, as it jogged my memory of one of the pleasant moments of this chaotic week.
Wednesday things were getting better, so we went to the grocery stores, and then on Thursday we did our laundry. Since Annabelle has been in diapers during her virus bout, I decided after a week of dealing with sick kids, it'd be a good idea to go back to potty training. Annabelle had no interest of sitting on the potty, and pooped a big poop and then a multiple pees through the day. Liam was a great pee police. He'd let me know each time she peed, and kept a close eye on her. He also would tell her each time, "That's not okay Anbel pee on floor."
I'm glad they are both feeling better and they are in much better spirits.
