Sunday:
Today, Liam woke up wanting his usual oatmeal, and we didn't have raisins, so I put bananas in them. Liam exclaimed, "Gigi eats bananas in her oatmeal!" Ruth and the kids went to church. When they returned home, Ruth sat them down to eat. Liam insisted several times that he was not hungry, then began to whine. I asked Liam, "Did you eat anything at church?" He replied, "I did not." This negotiation to get him to eat lunch continued for the next 5-10 minutes, with Liam migrating from his chair, to the kitchen floor, and back, all the while whining and screaming about not wanting to eat, wanting some tea, wanting some milk, etc. Ruth asked him again if he ate anything at church, but asked a little differently: "Did you eat crackers at church?" Liam exclaimed, wide-eyed, "I did!" "Did you eat a lot of crackers at church or a little bit of crackers?" "I ate a lottt of crackers. I ate cookies!" "You ate cookies?" "I did, I ate cookies too!" We knew then that Liam would not be having lunch before his nap. We ordered pizza for dinner, as the ground beef smelled odd and we decided to toss it. Liam ate his pizza, but wanted to know what each ingredient was before he ingested it. Bedtime went smoothly tonight; we read the Panda book and Liam was out.
