Wednesday:

Today I went to a birth, and this morning, at 5:00am, we went to pick up Nanny Frances to come to the house with the kids so I could head to the hospital. This meant waking the kids up, loading them in the car to go get her, and then coming home and getting back to bed. Liam was very excited to see Nanny Frances, since he hadn't seen her in so long, and I was very surprised when she said that he actually went back to sleep after we got home and I left.

Of course, she said they were great, and I asked Liam about what he did with Nanny Frances, and he said they played with Anbel, read books ("ONE book" to be exact), played with his glasses ("I put my glasses (Gaw-gol's) on, and my contacts in my eyes"), and helped Nanny Frances with Anbel. She told me how when Annabelle used the potty after she woke in the morning, Liam was very eager to dump the pee. I told her he likes to do that, and we trying to be very discouraging of it, since it is pee. I don't care what the other hippie parents say about pee being sterile, I still don't think it's wise to have a two-year-old take care of his little sister's potty. Liam doesn't understand this, so we are trying to work out that I will pick up the pee and dump it, and he can open the lid to the toilet while I dump it, and he can flush it. He really likes to be involved.
