Saturday:

Today Liam woke up and wanted to go outside.  He put on his shoes and clothes and played in the backyard for a few minutes.  We experimented with paint this morning to determine what colors we want to use in the living room.  Ruth's friend Catherine got married today, so around noon we started getting ready.  We left the house around 1pm and went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get gifts.  Ruth ran inside and I stayed in the car with the kids.  Liam wanted me to sing twinkle twinkle little star, so I did, multiple times.  On the drive up to the church, Liam decided to make noises.  I asked him to stop, as I was very anxious at how late we were.  He stopped, and asked if it made me nervous.  I assured him that it did, so he would just change the sound he was making, but continued to make repetitive sounds.  We were very late to the wedding.  I circled the driveway at the church, telling Ruth that I could not bring myself to go in so late, that it was simply too great a faux paux.  We discussed this several times, and decided to drop off the gifts, then leave, so we basically drove up and down FM 1704 three times before finally deciding to go.  Ruth was quite upset.  Liam was too, he decided that it was well past time that he got out of his car seat (we had, after all, been in the car for an hour).  Finally, we did go to the fellowship hall for the reception.  Liam was enamored with the water fountain, and I tried to hoist him up and get him a drink.  He tried to let the water flow into his mouth but it didn't work out to well.  I took him potty and he asked what everything in the bathroom was.  He saw the faucet fixture and stated, "Hey, that looks just like my faucet."  It was funny.  He almost had a meltdown when Ruth brought back 2 pieces of cake.  He really wanted some.  We cut off pieces of our cake and gave it to him.  He was excited and got every last morsel, then eagerly declared that he would like to have more cake.  Of course he wanted more cake, who doesn't?  Liam and Annabelle began to get restless, and of course I did too.  I had seen one too many women adjust their dress by pulling it up to better cover their bust.  Two things here: 1.  If the dress is that annoying, why wear it?  2.  With that kind of dress, there is naturally some exposure; if you have to tug at it every 7 minutes because you are self-conscious, perhaps more fabric is in order?  It's not that I was looking for it, every time I looked up someone was yanking their dress.  Anyway, we arrived home and Liam went outside to play with Honey.  Honey has made friends with the beagle puppy next door, Sam.  Sam's head was stuck under our fence.  Honey didn't really know how to react except to periodically sniff his head.  Liam was quite entertained by the whole spectacle.  Ruth went next door, and I looked over to the sound of water running.  It was Annabelle peeing on the toy car.  We ate dinner, Liam ate very little, and was quite uncooperative when we asked him to put his toys away.  Then, when he was supposedly brushing his teeth, I walked in to our little boy eating his toothpaste.  So the teeth brushing will continue to be supervised.  We put Liam to bed and he went to sleep after getting out of bed only twice tonight.  Lately it has been much more.  I think he knows Annabelle is up and we are up and he doesn't want to miss anything.
