Thursday:
Liam and Annabelle have started to do the cutest things together. Liam will lay out a blanket and say, "This is for me and Anbel and Mommy and Dadn to play on." Then Annabelle will come over and lay her head on him like she is hugging him, and then he hugs her back saying, "We love each other." It's so sweet to see.
He has also has a doctor kit that is a big hit in our house. Annabelle even plays with it, and they both like to go around wearing the stethoscope that comes with it.
We really didn't do much today. Just hung out at home and played.

Wednesday:
We went to play rehearsal today, and we also went to the grocery store on the way home. The kids had a snooze in the car, and then we ate at Sunflower since it was past lunch time.
When we got home, we put the groceries away and then headed to Circle C park. We took one of Liam's dump trucks, which he filled over and over again with acorns and then dumped them out. Annabelle kept trying to knock it over and he didn't appreciate that. He would tell her "Stop Anbel! No!" and push her hands away.
We got home, hung out for a bit, and then Liam wanted to go back outside with Honey. They played for a while till after Phillip got home, and he came in for a break. He back out to play with our neighbor's dog, Sam, through the fence and Honey. Something happened where he got hurt and then all the playing outside was done.
He also loved to watch Phillip put the entertainment center together today. He's very into that kind of stuff. So is Phillip. They will make a good team as they grow.

Tuesday:
This morning, I let Liam have the box of crackers Beth had brought, so he could munch while we were still all rolling out of bed. He would come in our room, give Annabelle a cracker and then leave. At one point, after him being gone a long time, I shouted for him to come back to the room, "Liam....Liam?....LIAM?...LIAM!?!?"
"What?" he replied.
"Come here and share with the crackers and share with your sister."
"I don't want to. I want to stay in here with those little cakes!" I forgot I had left the cupcakes on the table and after he finally came in, I told him when I asked him to come here, he had to come, with or without the temptation of cakes in the other room. When I went in the kitchen, I found one of the cupcakes with almost all the icing eaten off of it. There was just enough left to see little kid finger marks though it. Note to self mom.....
For lunch today I found some tortillas in the fridge so Liam and I made tortilla pizzas. Yumm! Sauce, cheese, bell peppers, tomatoes, more cheese, ham and them more cheese to top it! We loved it! After lunch, we all napped together in my bed. It was very cuddly and snuggly. It was a nice two hour nap. I'd like to have more of those.
We went to the park again, this time Bonny, Violet and Ollie joined us. Liam had a box of crackers that he was munching on and Violet wanted some. At first, he was not cool with that idea. He came running to me saying, "No No NO NO NOOO!!!" After I explained that sharing was very nice and painted the picture of 'What if Violet had a yummy box of crackers and he wanted some, would he want her to share' he agreed it was best to give her some crackers. He did it with much joy too.

Monday:
With the lovely weather, we went to the park in the neighborhood. Liam always says he wants to ride his scooter to the park, but that, as usual, only lasts till the second or third driveway from our house. We then take it to the park with us where he goes back and forth playing with it. One really exciting this is that Liam and I slid down the slide at the park! He first went down a couple times with me, and then went next to me, and then began to go down all by himself! He did it over and over! He had a lot of fun. He even climbed of the ladder steps on the side, which requires much more dexterity than the steps. I was so proud of him!

Sunday:
We didn't go to church today because of lack of sleep the previous night. So, we painted the living room. Liam loved watching us, and he also loved playing outside with Honey (which I'm enjoying since the weather is nicer.) He also entertained his sister when needed. He commented on how he really like the new color, which I'm glad it met his 3-year-old approval. As we were finishing up the painting, Liam was next to us and put his finger against the outlet. I shocked him and he was very surprised about that and said, "That's SHARP!" and "That SCARED ME!" and then asked, "Does that make my head do that?" as he shook his head side to side in a vibrating motion. I told him it could, and that is why we don't play with outlets. I think he got it.

Saturday:
Today Liam woke up and wanted to go outside. He put on his shoes and clothes and played in the backyard for a few minutes. We experimented with paint this morning to determine what colors we want to use in the living room. Ruth's friend Catherine got married today, so around noon we started getting ready. We left the house around 1pm and went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to get gifts. Ruth ran inside and I stayed in the car with the kids. Liam wanted me to sing twinkle twinkle little star, so I did, multiple times. On the drive up to the church, Liam decided to make noises. I asked him to stop, as I was very anxious at how late we were. He stopped, and asked if it made me nervous. I assured him that it did, so he would just change the sound he was making, but continued to make repetitive sounds. We were very late to the wedding. I circled the driveway at the church, telling Ruth that I could not bring myself to go in so late, that it was simply too great a faux paux. We discussed this several times, and decided to drop off the gifts, then leave, so we basically drove up and down FM 1704 three times before finally deciding to go. Ruth was quite upset. Liam was too, he decided that it was well past time that he got out of his car seat (we had, after all, been in the car for an hour). Finally, we did go to the fellowship hall for the reception. Liam was enamored with the water fountain, and I tried to hoist him up and get him a drink. He tried to let the water flow into his mouth but it didn't work out to well. I took him potty and he asked what everything in the bathroom was. He saw the faucet fixture and stated, "Hey, that looks just like my faucet." It was funny. He almost had a meltdown when Ruth brought back 2 pieces of cake. He really wanted some. We cut off pieces of our cake and gave it to him. He was excited and got every last morsel, then eagerly declared that he would like to have more cake. Of course he wanted more cake, who doesn't? Liam and Annabelle began to get restless, and of course I did too. I had seen one too many women adjust their dress by pulling it up to better cover their bust. Two things here: 1. If the dress is that annoying, why wear it? 2. With that kind of dress, there is naturally some exposure; if you have to tug at it every 7 minutes because you are self-conscious, perhaps more fabric is in order? It's not that I was looking for it, every time I looked up someone was yanking their dress. Anyway, we arrived home and Liam went outside to play with Honey. Honey has made friends with the beagle puppy next door, Sam. Sam's head was stuck under our fence. Honey didn't really know how to react except to periodically sniff his head. Liam was quite entertained by the whole spectacle. Ruth went next door, and I looked over to the sound of water running. It was Annabelle peeing on the toy car. We ate dinner, Liam ate very little, and was quite uncooperative when we asked him to put his toys away. Then, when he was supposedly brushing his teeth, I walked in to our little boy eating his toothpaste. So the teeth brushing will continue to be supervised. We put Liam to bed and he went to sleep after getting out of bed only twice tonight. Lately it has been much more. I think he knows Annabelle is up and we are up and he doesn't want to miss anything.

Friday:
Papa left this morning and me and the kids headed out to a BOLD rehearsal. It's really hard to focus because both of them are constantly on me asking for something. I wish they would just go and play with the other kids. It would be nice to be able to go out and do anything with other moms without feeling like it's just more work for me to carry on a conversation. It kinda becomes pointless. I know they will at some point grow out of it, and I know I'll miss it when they do. I'm always told to savor the years they are small, but to be honest, while they are the most important to savor, they are least easy to.

Thursday:
We went to Beth and Ari's house today to play, and for the most part all three of the kids got along. There were a few run-ins with Ari being rough when he was trying to get Liam to play with him and Liam didn't want to. They are such polar opposites when it comes to choice of game. Ari likes things loud and fast and in your face. Liam like slow, soothing, independent activities. We ordered a pizza for lunch since neither Beth or I wanted to deal with cooking lunch. That was nice. Not healthy, but nice. We came home after and the kids both napped in my bed, Liam napped almost three hours! When he woke, Papa was home and he got to play with him for a bit before he left to go home tomorrow morning. I think he really liked that.

All those days:
Yup...it's been over a week since I've added anything, and while I can make stuff, I figured the honesty of parenthood is much better and touches on the reality of it more.
Yup...it's been over a week since I've added anything, and while I can make stuff, I figured the honesty of parenthood is much better and touches on the reality of it more.
We've been going to the park a lot, which Liam really likes. We usually
take some trucks to play with and to share with the other kids. At
first, Liam like to search around for the most acorns he can find and
ask me to hold them. A short while later, he forgets about them and
Annabelle ends up trying to eat them. He's ventured onto playscapes
now, but has yet to go down the slides. He and Annabelle always play
together and yell and scream as loud as they want without their Mom
telling them to talk quieter. They love it! In the back park, Liam has
figured out how to work the digger tool/toy/thing (I have no idea what
it's called) and he's really proud of that. He still likes the rocking
horse, and no matter what he is doing, he always ends up with his shoes
off. Definitely my son.
Oh, Liam's going to be thing, that we thought was solved by him staying in bed and not getting up....yeah, that's not happening anymore. He's up, about fifty million times. The other night, after he had gone down the list of water, food, pee, brush teeth, not tired, hot, cold, he got to the 'scared of my airplane' excuse. We tried to fight that for about ten minutes (this is after thirty minutes of previous fighting about going to bed) I went in with a roll of paper and a tape and taped over the airplane. If I had paint handy, I would have painted over it. Feeling proud that I not only saved my son from fear, but also got ride of an excuse to get out of bed, I left his room. A couple minutes later, he gets up, "I'm scared of my trees, will you tape over my trees Mommy?" I don't think there are words that are suitable for young ears that would adequately depict my rage. I did keep my calm though and the next morning took the paper down from the airplane and said, "I know you're not really scared of the airplane, so I'm taking this down. And I'm never taping over it again, or your trees." When he mentions it now, I ignore him and walk him back to bed. I think it's wise of me to start taking some Rescue Remedy before I start bedtime for now on.
Let's see...Liam still rides his scooter and he even attempts to ride it to the park. He gets tired and I put it in the stroller along with him and Annabelle, but at the park he rides it a lot and always shares with Violet or Ari, whoever is there. Ari and Beth did come over for dinner the other night, and that was a lot of fun. They played together pretty well for the most part. Ari got a little aggressive and hit Liam, two which he yelled back "Don't hit me!!" instead of hitting him back. I was proud. Ari is quite the opposite of Liam. Air likes people to be very close to him, he likes to get it other's faces and play rough and lots and lots of stimuli. Liam doesn't. He's much more mellow. There are sometimes moments where we have to keep a close on them so one of them doesn't disrupt the other. By the end of the night, it was past bedtime, and Liam was cranky and had some issues getting his overalls on (which he refuses to let anyone help with) and Ari startled him. This threw Liam into a tailspin of overload. He didn't want anything else to do with Ari, just mom and maybe Annabelle. They left shortly after, as they were already on their way out.
I can't remember much else. I'm sure there is more, and I will never be able to catch everything.

Sunday:
Liam was very sad to see Gigi and Papa go. I think well before their time of leaving he was starting to feel upset about it. I could tell because he just wasn't acting himself, more like his 'I'm upset with something' self. When they left and he was a little droopy faced, I asked him if he was sad that they left and he said yes. I then told him we would see them again soon and asked him if that made him happy. He said yes again, and never really mentioned it again. We headed out to Garden Ridge to look for bottles for Phillip's Kombucha. They didn't have any, but we did get a hammock! That will be nice for the fall weather.
When we got home, we had lunch, and Liam asked to ride his bike. I told him he could, and he headed toward the garage. His scooter was in the living room and when I asked him what he was doing he said, "I want ride my black bike." I dug it out of the corner and he climbed on it all by himself and began around the living room into the kitchen. He almost has it down. I think he needs a little more pressure on the peddles, and the motion of peddling will make a lot more sense. He excited said "I almost can ride my bike!" It was sweet.

Saturday:
This morning Liam and Annabelle were excited to be with Gigi and Poppa. Ruth went to an ICAN meeting in the morning. Mom and I fed Annabelle and Liam. She returned and her and mom put the kids down for a nap, then went for pedicures. Dad and I turned on football and about the time I decided that I would shower, Annabelle started to wake up. Dad and I played with her until Liam made his appearance. He was in a grouchy mood and didn't want to talk at first. Before Mom and Ruth returned, I decided to start mounting the curtain rod brackets over the sliding glass door. Liam wanted to sit on the stepladder. Annabelle wanted to hug Liam. Liam didn't want to be hugged so I tried to get him to relocate but he didn't really want to do that either. Later in the afternoon, Ruth and Liam went out back to throw some bad watermelon to the deer. We ate dinner with my parents, and Ruth's parents and Micah. Liam ate a fair amount of food, and did not want to go to bed. Later that night, Liam was upset because he could not stop coughing, so he came in bed with us. He kept refusing all of our attempts to help him. I finally told him that if he was going to be mean to Mom and Dad, he would have to go back to his bed. He quieted down. I continued watching a documentary on Netflix with my headphones on, when I heard something in the background. I paused the program and took off my headset, without turning around. I heard a profoundly deep snore. I asked Ruth if she was the one snoring, knowing if I did not hear a response that indeed my suspicion would be confirmed. Ruth answered and I realized that the deep and loud snore was coming from Liam...

Friday:
We got to spend all day with Gigi today, so I took advantage of the extra hands and we ran some errands. We had breakfast, which Liam ate almost all his eggs, and then went to Garden Ridge to look for a vase to put in my kitchen. Liam had a lot of fun. They had kid-sized rocking chairs that he liked to sit in and really wanted to take home. I told him we weren't going to right now, but maybe later. After a few more errands, we came home and the kids napped.
In the evening, we had Tino's for dinner, where Liam ate almost all his gyro and finished off his lima beans. He didn't eat much at lunch, so I guess he was making up for it now.

Thursday:
This evening Gigi and Papa came in after Liam had gone to bed. Before I covered him up I told him they were coming and that he might not see them in the evening, but he would see them in the morning. At one point, he got up to open the bathroom door that Papa had closed and I told him that there was someone in there and the door would be opened later. I don't think he noticed it was Papa. He asked, "Is he going to close door when he get out?" I confirmed that he would and instructed him to go back to bed and sleep. He did.
