Wednesday:
Today was an eventful day! It started with me going into the kids' bathroom and noticing I had left out the Gripe Water for Annabelle from last night. I pick it up and notice the bottle is almost empty. "Did you drink this, Liam?" "I did!" he enthusiastically replied. This was a great time for me to move the basket of homeopathy and such up another shelf. I wasn't too worried about it being toxic as it's only ginger and fennel essence. At most it would just upset his stomach. Which is did. A lot. All morning it was 'I don't feel better' and 'I need to try to throw up' as Liam leaned over the toilet in our bathroom and his. Finally, before we headed out to Butterfly Elements for a mom's gathering, Liam threw up and immediately said he felt so much better. He even ate some eggs before we walked out the door.
At the gathering, Liam took his dump truck and a tupperware dish filled with frozen peas and had a great time. On the way home, I think the tummy ache came back. I told him he could lay down in my bed to rest as I got Annabelle situated. I carried him in, laid him down and covered him up. By the time I brought Annabelle in and gave her lunch, Liam was snoozing away in our room. He napped from a little after 1:00 to after 4:00. We made a trip to Sunflower and then back home to make dinner. Liam seemed to be in a much better mood. Nanny Sharron came over at dinner so I could go to a prenatal and she put the kids down as well.
When I got home, Liam was of course still awake, which I expected so I went in, tucked him in, and said prayers. Tonight, when I asked him what he was thankful for, he said Nanny Sharron, which I thought was really cute. We thanked God for her, and then did little pumpkin and I kissed and hugged him goodnight. He only got up once after that and then he was fast asleep.

Tuesday:
Tonight at dinner, a thunderstorm rolled it. I opened up the back door as we sat and ate. It was so nice to have the change in weather and hear the wind blow through the wind chimes and see the sky off in the distance flicker through the dark grey clouds. The smell of rain in the air was so refreshing it would be a shame not to try to let that flood the house....
That was the nice part of the evening. Liam thew a fit because he wanted to go outside, but I told him he had to eat first. This turned into a loud, assertive, aggressive refusal accompanied by a pounding fist on the table. For that, he went to timeout, where he ended up hitting and pushing his sister, which got his sent to his room, where he carried on and on. After he calmed down, he was given to option to finish dinner before bed, he didn't want to, and instead threw another fit, so bedtime then commenced, tonight with no story. By the time it was all over and I had Annabelle down, he was crashed out in his room. It was a rough day for him. I think him not having a good nap during the day had a lot to do with it.

Monday:
This morning Ruth had to leave to attend a birth well before we woke up. I awoke to Liam advising that he was so hungry. I asked him to lay back down, offered for him to lay down in mom and dad's bed. I told Liam that Annabelle was up late the night before and dad was so tired. He complied and woke up again around 8:00. He was in the living room / kitchen for a little while and he came back here and said he wanted something to eat. I asked him again to give me a few minutes until Annabelle woke up. He came in 10 minutes later and happily proclaimed, "Annabelle's awake now!" I asked Liam if he work Annabelle up. He thought about it for a second and replied, "I did not." So I cooked eggs for myself and Annabelle, and made oatmeal for Liam. He ate 2 bowls. At that point I began to get nervous because I was unable to locate anyone to watch the kids and I had to be at work at noon. I brought them in our bedroom so I could at least begin to get ready. Annabelle showed a fondness for her car seat that was lying in the foyer, so I brought it back there with us. So Annabelle gets in the car seat and stands up, Liam sits down, and she rested her head on his back. At this time, Annabelle was standing toward the back of the car seat. Then Liam decided to stand up and of course the car seat topples over backward, spilling Annabelle out near the desk. She was stirred up, but not hurt. I decided that was enough fun with the car seat and put it back in the foyer, upside down. I then put Annabelle in her exer-saucer (a colorful plastic device with various barnyard toys which allows the child to stand up) while I took a shower.

Sunday:
We woke up normally, with Liam going potty then coming into our room, exclaiming again that he was afraid of the mask. I had a Buddha mask that hung on the wall across from Liam's bathroom. He decided that it scares him and doesn't want it there. Ruth and the kids went to church and I went on a ride. I got home and we got ready to go to various stores to complete our home improvements. I sat down at the table and asked Liam if he wanted to join me. He was exceedingly grouchy, as evidenced by the scowl on his face. I tried to make light conversation with him and he solemnly told me that 'I don't want to talk right now'. I refrained from engaging him further. When we returned home, Liam got his second wind while we cooked dinner and he and Annabelle laughed and played. They had quite a time. At dinner, Liam ate everything and we were so proud as was he. Bedtime went smoothly for Liam. He slept until about 10p or so, when Ruth and I admitted defeat and brought Annabelle in our bed. I played a sample from the 'Baby Sleep System,' something I heard rave reviews about. Supposedly, it has sounds from the womb mixed in with piano music. Well, it certainly isn't that great because Liam woke up and came in our room, asking if we could turn it off. What a bullshit gimmick that is, glad we haven't bought it yet...

Saturday:
Phillip has had a rough week, so I hung out with the kids in the morning while he rested. He rested and then I had to run out for a meeting in the afternoon so Phillip took over then. He said nap was no big deal, Liam was pretty tired and went right to sleep.
In the evening, Phillip and I lost track of time and didn't realize that it was past our normal dinner time until our hungry children reminded us. As we tried to scrounge together dinner, we gave the kids whatever they would eat to satiate them. Usually that means things like bananas, peas, tomatoes, watermelon (which had leftover from Annabelle's birthday cake). Every now and then, it's fine to have a buffet of various of foods for dinner, even if they don't match.

Friday:
After nap today, we went to Kelly (a mom friend) and Noah's (her 3 year old) house for a play date. Liam played with his train set, and all the little animals he had, and then he found a recorder that was in one of the toy buckets. He had a lot of fun blowing in it, and then once it got...too moist....it stopped working. This became very frustrating for Liam. Of course, he got past that once he found another noise making toy. We also put together this giant puzzle, which Liam really liked. We are going to have to look around for some of those for Christmas for him.
We are dog sitting Blaze, and at night, Blaze went to sleep in Liam's room. I was walking down the hall when I noticed Liam wasn't sleeping, but at the opposite end of his bed, leaning over and petting Blaze. It was cute, and I almost caught the perfect picture of it. I think the flash caused both of them to stir afterwards. He wasn't sleeping anyway, so it wasn't too much of a disruption.

Thursday:
Liam went with Annabelle and me to Dr. Kangos for her 1 year well check. Nothing too exciting happened there, except at the end, where Liam got a starry bouncy ball to take home with him. He loved it. He asked me to sing Twinkle Twinkle with him to it, so we did, all 4 versus. He thought that was really neat. He later lost it after he threw it and didn't watch where it went. In the evening, we found it in Honey's dog food bowl after she ate all her crunchies. He was glad.
We did some grocery shopping, and then we went to meet an acupuncturist at Central Market to talk about referring business to each other. Liam had salmon and sweet potato fries and he was fascinated with the birds there. He said, "When we leave, we have to say 'bye' to the birds. If I say 'bye' to them, they will say 'bye' to me. Because they love me." It was probably the cutest thing int he world by far. While we were on our way home, Liam said, "We forgot to say 'bye' to the birds! They are crying!" I tried to reassure him that they were okay and they were thankful for all the bits of food we left on the ground for them. I think he was satisfied with that.

It's Annabelle's birthday today and I think it's been too soon since Liam's that he's having trouble sharing the spotlight. In the morning, he insisted that it was his birthday, and not hers. Then, after I made the watermelon cake, he wanted to eat it right then. We all gathered toward the table to sing Happy Birthday and before Phillip could press record on the camera or I could sit down with Annabelle, Liam was already through the first line. We quickly caught up, finished the song, and all clapped. Annabelle didn't even get to lean toward her cake to blow out the candle before Liam was up on the table with a big huff. Out went the candle and we all clapped. It was pretty funny. They both got some 'cake' and were very pleased. I was pleased that it was healthy and that they could eat as much as they wanted without it being a big deal. They both love watermelon so much that it was the perfect thing for them.

Tuesday:
We went to Whole Earth today to look at shoes for Phillip and me. Liam calls them our 'toe shoes' as the shoe has an individual slot for each toe. Much Like a toe sock, but...well...a toe shoe. I think he may be onto something. Smart kid! Liam tried on a pair as well. It was too cute to see the huge shoe on his tiny foot. We think he also left his glasses there, which he was kind of upset about, but then he understood that he should keep up with his things a little better for now on. I was super glad he was there though because he helped me pick the shoes I got. I'm glad he got the decisive gene.
After we left, we went home and had lunch, which was an alfredo chicken with zucchini and cherry tomatoes. Liam didn't like the idea of it, but I knew he would like it if he tried it. He refused to, and wanted to get down and go laid down for nap. Okay. When he woke, he said he was hungry. So, I offered him his leftover lunch. He took a bite, said he liked it and ate more. After a few bites, he asked, "Is this throw up?" I looked at him funny and said, "No. Does it taste like it?" "Yeah, it does." he replied. "Do you like it?" I asked. "I DO! I don't like to throw up. I like this!" I don't know whether to take this as a compliment or as an insult. I'm glad he ate though.

Monday:
We are weaning Liam out of our bed. Not that we don't enjoy co-sleeping (not that Phillip does), but co-sleeping turns into musical beds with Liam, where no-one gets sleep. When we first started this, he came in three or four times at night, and each time we would take him back to his bed. Now it's just once or twice (knock on wood.)
This morning, we had breakfast, which wasn't a battle at all of spinach and eggs with bacon and toast. Liam even asked for more eggs, which I thought was great! After that, we played with toys and separated and sorted them in the toy bins. The kids had lunch and napped and then after, we took a stroll to the coffee house down the road. I put Annabelle in the bike stroller and Liam rode his scooter. The stroller is big enough for the both of them, which is good because it wasn't too far down the sidewalk that Liam was tired of scooting and wanted to join her in the stroller.
At the coffee house, I got an iced coffee and a cupcake and the kids a cup of fruit and a yogurt. Liam climbed on the table as I was still getting situated and began to help himself to my cupcake. I can't blame him. I shared a bit to avoid a tantrum and then got him a strawberry smoothie as promised. We then played with dominoes. These had different color sets of dots for each number. Liam had a quick lesson on addition with that, which he really thought was fun. We counted the dots on one side, then counted them on the other and then counted them all together. We should look at buying a set of those, I can see them coming in handy.

Sunday:
We didn't go to church today since we are all under the weather. Instead, we decided to get some house stuff done, which ended up being prepping and painting the kitchen. Liam was very excited about this. He watched Phillip paint and commented on how there was 'no nothing on the walls.' It was baffling to him. He helped to keep Annabelle entertained. I cooked dinner with her wrapped and I think he was kinda upset about that. He kept asking me to put her down so he could play with her. But, she wanted to play with the paint, so I saw it best to keep her close to me. He did get to play with her a little more at dinner and after and then we got them ready for bed.
Phillip had set a timer for his wheat berries and when it went off, Liam came out and said, "Can you turn your alarm off Dadn?" Phillip said he did and then Liam asked, "Is it going to go off again?" "No, son, it's not." I don't think he likes the alarms any more than I do.

Saturday:
This morning, Liam came in mentioning he was 'so hungry' (he has a tendency to sometimes over dramatize some things.) So, he went into the kitchen with stool in hand, placed it at the foot of the counter, grabbed an apple, took the sticker off and threw it away and then took the stool and apple back to the bathroom where he could reach the sink and rinsed it and sat down to munch. He's at such an awesome age.

Friday:
This cold bug has been the longest he's been sick in a while. I woke up this morning to the bottle of the Hylands Homeopathic Cold and Cough remedy bottle empty in the sink. I also noticed a shinny smear on the kitchen floor. I asked Liam if he spilled it. He surely said 'Yes, I did. And I cleaned it up.' I then noticed the wadded towel on the counter. I'm not worried about it hurting him since it's a homeopathic remedy. He could drink the whole bottle and it not do anything to him, but it's the principle. Needless to say, we are finding a new place for our vitamins and supplements.

Thursday:
Liam says he feels better, but still has a runny nose and his temperament reflects the idea that everything little event that doesn't go his way is the end of the world. So, I'm guessing he doesn't feel 100% yet. This is the longest he has been sick in a while. I'm ready for it to be over. We didn't have any outings today, which was nice, so we just did our laundry. Nap time began around noon, and I think both the kids were ready to rest. I was too, but household duties called. I always find it funny that kids act like they despise napping, and when kids grow up to be adults, all they want to do is nap. I wonder when that change of heart happens.

Wednesday:
Liam said, "every time I do that (acts out swallowing) it feels so sick." He then points to the back of his mouth and says it "hurts right there." So, I think based on that, we figured he has a sore throat. Also, his nose is pretty stuffed up. We decided not to go to our Mom's Gathering at Butterfly Elements and instead did our grocery store shopping. We did HEB first, and then we went to Sunflower. At HEB, both the kids were super hungry (even after they had eaten breakfast) so I bought some bananas and both of them ended up eating two whole bananas each! We went from there to home to drop off the groceries and then out to Sunflower. When we got there, Liam mentioned he was hungry again. It was almost lunch, so we bought a chicken salad sandwich, a container of hummus, and a cheese and veggie mini-tray. We sat down to eat. Liam loved he hummus most of all, he even dipped his cheese in it.
After we finished shopping, we went home, and the kids napped. It was kind of a long day. Bedtime ended up being after 8:00, and it was kind of a battle. Both the kids ended up in our bed, and Phillip on the couch. Annabelle has a stuffy nose and is having a hard time sleeping, and Liam just wants to be in there with us. Since she was doing all the tossing and turning, Liam slept at the foot of the bed and Annabelle took up almost the whole top of the bed. What a night...again!

Tuesday:
We had our first meeting for our neighborhood play group today! We met at the back park with all the other mamas and kiddos. There were a lot of new faces, which was really neat. Liam even became adventurous and climbed on the play scape all by himself without any coercion. It wasn't long though till he wanted to be right by me again. When we sat down to eat, he eat his food, we shared a PBJ, and then he had some fun digging holes in the dirt. He said he had a lot of fun.
This evening, Liam mentioned that he didn't feel good. He wanted to sleep on the couch so we let him, and as we figured, he was back in our room in no time. We got him to go to his bed for a few minutes, but since he was feeling crummy, we opened up our bed for him to sleep in. That ended up being a good decision because he was up every half hour talking about how he "didn't feel good", was "so sick" and how he "felt so crummy." It was a long night.

Monday:
Today I went to the church MOPS group. It's a group where they have childcare for all the age groups and the moms get together and have mom time, do a craft, and have discussions and sometimes a speaker. I love it. Liam was not so excited. His class met in a new building, with a new teacher, with new kids. He was not in any way cool with that adjustment. I was upset for well over 5-10 minutes about it. The teacher seemed less than supportive of his emoting. She insisted he would 'be fine', even though, I wanted to spend some time helping him adjust. She also kinda nagged on me for not bringing a snack for him, even though he doesn't eat until lunch usually. When I picked him up, he still had his sunglasses on (which I think he feels safer when wearing them), and he was washing his hands after going potty. He didn't want to do the craft with the other kids, which was kinda sad, as I know it would have been something he would have loved doing. I think, in the future, when Frances is teaching Annabelle's class, I will let Liam go in there with her and Annabelle. I think that would be easier for him.

Sunday:
We went to church this morning, and Liam was very excited that Dad was coming with us. As Phillip buckled him in his car seat, he asked, "Are you coming with us Dadn?" When he said he was, Liam said, "Okay!" with a smile. He stayed with us in church and wasn't too disruptive. He did a lot of playing with his car and I think the bit of noise it made made Phillip a little nervous, but it kept Liam occupied, which I liked.

When we got home, Liam napped and then we went to run a few errands, and then made dinner. Annabelle couldn't wait to eat, so I put Annabelle in her high chair and gave her some carrots. Liam came over on his scooter and asked her for one and she handed him one. He ate it and asked for another. Soon they were both at the table sharing and eating carrots.
At bedtime, I told Liam that he could surprise Dad by saying he wanted to read a new story. He went out and told Dad (who I had prepared to be surprised) and then they went to read story. When I went in to say my goodnights and prayer, I excitedly asked Liam, "What story did you read!?".
"I read Scary Lady!" he said with a huge smile.
"I thought you were going to surprise Dad?"
"No, I want read Scary Lady." he rebutted. Maybe another night Phillip will be free from the same story telling.

Saturday:
Phillip and I are on a mission today to clean out the garage. It's a pretty big undertaking, as we plan to build shelves and reorganize everything in there to hopefully make space for both our cars. Liam came out with us and it wasn't long till his eyes set on a scooter we have had long forgotten in the garage. It was instant love. He rode around the garage for a bit, and was very much in our way, and then when we came inside for lunch, he had a blast riding round and round the living room and kitchen. It took him only a little bit to figure out how to make it go, then he was off! He kept calling it a bike, and when we would call it a scooter, he would say, "I call it a bike." What a great entertainment. He hardly put it down. I can foresee lots and lots of time of Liam playing with it.

Friday:
The kids were eating watermelon today for snack which is Liam's favorite. Annabelle wasn't done by the time Liam was, so he decided to share the rest of his with her. I think it may have been more than she could have ate. She liked it though, and Liam thought it was pretty funny.

Thursday:
Liam played musical beds last night, and between that and Annabelle waking up, I don't think any of us got much sleep. Today, we had breakfast and started our laundry for the week. The kids went down early for nap, and Liam woke an hour or so later in a very grumpy mood. I don't know what the deal is, but it's a constant battle with him on everything. When he got up he saw the pile of his shirts and wanted to wear one. I said sure and that he could take the shirt off he had on. He didn't want to do that. So he put it on over it. That was tantrum. Then he wanted to put anther on, and it didn't fit over the other two, so he threw another tantrum. I hope we can figure something out to make the rest of the day go by smoother.
Liam painted Gigi's birthday present today. It's a wooden chicken that I bought at the craft store, which Liam is very excited about giving Gigi. He said, "When I give this to Gigi, Gigi will say 'thank you Liam.'" I agreed she would and thought it was really sweet that he thought of that.
After Phillip got home, we decided to go out and take pictures at the Zilker Botanical Gardens. It wasn't too hot, and Liam very quickly fell in love with all the plants and things to see. At one of the ponds, there was a huge orange fish swimming, which Liam was entranced with. There were also various statues of 'houses' around with openings in them that Liam could look in. He really enjoyed doing this too. We made a game out of pretending we saw things in them ranging from foods to animals, etc. He thought that was very funny. We got some great pictures, here are just a few:

Wednesday:
This morning we headed out to Butterfly Elements for the Mom's Gathering. Liam is going through some kind of whiny stage where he whines about things, and it seem like there is constantly something whine worthy to him. It's really rough when you are trying to talk to moms in their postpartum period.
After we left, we went to Kerby Lane to eat lunch. On the way, Liam mentioned that he wanted a pancake. He then said he had to eat an egg first and asked if they had bacon too. I told him they did, and he had his lunch planned out. We got there, and I forgot to tell them to fry his egg over hard, so the yolk wouldn't be runny. Liam did eat the majority of it, and then wanted to eat his pancake. I asked him to eat one more bite before he ate his pancake. He asked me to cut his pancake for him, to which I said 'no' and asked him to eat his bite of egg first. To that, he responded, "I'll cut my pancake myself!" While I admire his confidence and independence, I encouraged him to eat his last bite and then move on to the pancake. Annabelle started to get really grouchy after she ate so I fashioned Liam's leftover pancake into a pancake sandwich to take to-go. I knew he wouldn't eat much more, but he insisted that he was "still so hungry" and so this was our compromise. It wasn't but half a mile down the road he asked me to hold it since he was 'all done'. He slept on the way home and as soon as we pulled into the garage he woke an asked for it again. I told him he could eat it in his bed and then nap.
After he woke, Marlene had already left and Dad was home. We decided to head to HEB to do our shopping for the day. We were glad to get home and be done when the evening came.

Tuesday:
Marlene and Jonathan are staying with us a few days as there are numerous fires around their area of Bastrop right now. Liam was excited to see her, and before he woke he asked, "Is Marlene going to get up too?" I told him she was and we all had breakfast together. Marlene, Annabelle and I all went out to run a few errands and Liam stayed home with dad to have what we call 'Man Time.' Of what I know they watched Netflix and Liam rounded up all his remote controls and lined them up on the couch. He said he had a lot of fun.
They napped, and Liam woke a little early so Phillip went to lay down with him in our bed. They both slept till about 5:30. We had dinner and then I bathed the kids and I had a discussion with Liam when he wanted to 'type on his email' instead of taking a bath. While that was funny, it was past 8:00 and I am really trying to avoid cranky kids in the morning for the sake of my mommy sanity.

Monday:
We headed home from Gigi and Papa's and Liam last words out his window to them were, "See you later!" I hoped that since we were leaving in the early afternoon, the kids would be up for a bit and then nap the second half of the trip. Of course, as kids do, they didn't follow that mom-plan. Liam napped a bit once, and then spent a lot of time coloring on his marker board, which was totally worth the whole dollar spent on it. And reading books. We had to make a lot of stops for pottying. One in particular was the worst bathroom I have ever been in. Liam had just gone pee and were were back on the road when he let us know, in a desperate tone that he had to 'doo-doo' and asked if he could go in his carseat. So, we stopped at the next available gas station. We had never stopped there before and when we went inside, we met a line of people outside a unisex bathroom. That should have been my first warning. We get in, it smells ungodly, and I very carefully remove Liam's pant leg without touching the bottom of his shoe or having his foot touch the ground. He sits on the potty and begins to take his time. He goes a bit, and keeps saying he has more. He then points out the dead cricket on the floor without a head. Ewww. Then he sees two more. "There are three dead bubms in here!" "Yes, Liam, there are, can you please finish now?" More time passes. Liam looks at the door and says, "Some body write on that door!" as he point to the graffiti. "That's not okay." He insisted. Someone knocks on the door. Yup, we are still in here! Finally he finishes after they knock again, and we wash his hands praying that the paper towel I was using to block the unknown bacteria on the faucet and door did its job. We left, got in the car and it took some time for me to even want to explain to Phillip why it took us 15 minutes to go potty. Never again are we going to do that.

Sunday:
Liam woke this morning around 8:00, and I think the extra little sleep he got did him a lot of good. He had breakfast with Gigi, and then, in the afternoon, he, Gigi and I headed out to get some pizza for lunch. There was a fit about eating, and I sent Liam to the room. He cried out that he had to go potty, and he obviously needed help, so I went in. I mentioned something to him and he said, 'no' or 'I don't want to' or something to that effect, and I really don't care for any more of that. I put my foot down and made it very clear that I'm not going to tolerate that tone and those comments anymore. After he was done, I told him to go eat and after he was done with his pizza, he was going to nap. That conversation went like this, "After you eat your pizza, you are going to take a nap."
"After I eat my pizza, I going to eat more pizza."
"Fine, after you eat more pizza, you are going to nap."
"After I going to eat a lot of pizza."
"Okay, eat a lot of pizza, and then you are coming back here to nap."
"I going to eat all the pizza."
"Okay, after the pizza is gone, you are going to nap."
"I eat a lot of pizza."
"Liam, you are going to nap, do you understand?!"
"Uh-huh."
He's going to be very good in sales, debate, and negotiation. We shall see where that takes him.
He did nap, with no fuss, and after a couple hours, Annabelle woke and woke him. He came in the bathroom where Annabelle and I were and I could tell he wasn't ready to get up. I passed Annabelle off to Phillip and Liam and I went to lay back down. He rested a bit and after I left, he wasn't too far behind me. This time, when he came out, he was smiling and ready to wake.
We went swimming later, and Liam had a lot of fun. He wanted out of the floating airplane and wanted to hang out and swim with Phillip and me. He also went to blowing bubbles as well, a big leap. We headed in before too long.
Gigi and Papa gave Liam a Dr.'s kit, which he really likes. He took a couple of our blood pressures, and then checked all our heart beats. It was so cute to watch him put the stethescope in his ears, and use all the tools. He then asked Gigi if she had any gloves. She did, and he really liked that. He went to check Annabelle out by listening to her heart and checking her ears. She kept trying to eat the ear examiner tool when he put it up to her, so he didn't have much luck. Then, when it came to taking her temperature, for what ever reason, he insisted it had to be done in her ear, and she wasn't having this. She kept pulling it out, and Liam became very frustrated and yelled at her. I tried to explain that if she didn't want him to put something in her ear, she had that right and he should maybe leave her alone now. I think he got it, and he backed off.

Bed time took place a little after 8:00, and both the kids were very ready. Hopefully they get some good sleep tonight.

Saturday:
Phillip and I got back around the afternoon and Nana and Padad and Mimi were still here spending some time with the kids. I know they enjoy seeing them. They left, and we started talking about dinner. Liam was a little irritable, and grouchy, and tired, and hungry, and touchy, and sensitive, etc, etc, etc. The discussion of dinner turned into a major MAJOR meltdown. Screaming at the top of his lungs, we took him to the den to sit down in time out to calm down. That didn't happen very quickly. I think it took a good half hour to get him over that fit and calm down. Phillip was handling that one since Liam kept saying "I want listen to Mommy!", we wanted him to understand that he has to listen to Dad too, and it's disrespectful to say such things. Three minutes after three minutes went by, over and over, each time Liam asking for Mom. At one point, he asked Phillip, "Will you go get Mom?" Dad said, "No, you need to calm down and listen to me." It was very tiring. Finally, we left him to calm down by himself as going in over and over wasn't helping, and when he was quiet for a bit, Phillip went in to find him asleep. He woke him up, and with tear tracks on his face, went to hug Phillip. After we explained the situation to him in terms he could understand, and all apologized.
Whew! After that, he ate and we decided to go swimming. Liam took to it very well, and immediately went in the water with Papa. He didn't spend too much time out of the airplane, which was fine, but he did spend some time in the airplane floating by himself without anyone holding onto him. I think he's warming up to it more. On the way inside, Liam fell and whacked his lip on the door frame. The inside of his lip busted and it bled a little, but nothing serious. After we got him cleaned up, I got a look at it, and saw that he scratched his lip all the way down to his chin. I felt bad. It was a rough day all around for him.
He went to be semi-early considering we are out of town, and I think he was ready for sleep.

Friday:
We were going to take pictures at the botanical gardens this morning, but things got a little behind, as usual, so Liam's 3 year pictures will have to wait till later this week. We finally headed up to Gigi and Papa's, but first, we had to stop at Target to pick up some diapers for Annabelle. We also though it would be a good idea to do a potty break. Phillip took Liam to the men's while I took Annabelle with me to the women's. Phillip told me on the way to the restroom, Liam said, "Don't flush it while I in there Dadn. Don't pee on my head. Don't put my head in the toilet." I know where he gets the flushing thing, but the peeing on head, and head in the toilet, I have no idea. I think he has a very strong, lengthy imagination.
Once we got to Gigi and Papa's, Liam was very excited. He gave hugs and felt right at home.

Thursday:
Liam woke up last night in the middle of the night sounding very afraid. I went to meet him in his room and he was half asleep almost shaking. I tried to figure out what was wrong and then decided that the best thing to do was scoop him up and bring him in bed with me. I did and all night he slept cuddled up close to me. It was sweet, even considering the cramp in the arm he laid on, and in the morning, around 7:00 he returned on his own to his bed.
When we got up, we had breakfast and then started laundry. I hung it out on the line today since it's so hot and I have a lot of loads to do and want to get the whole ordeal done as soon as possible. Liam wanted to play in his sand box, but after I begged and desperately pleaded him to hand me clothes to help me hang them he postponed the sandbox playing till we were done. He's such a great kid and all the while would keep repeating, "Mommy needs help. I'm helping Mommy."
When I was done, Annabelle and I went inside and Liam stayed out back to play in his sandbox and in the dirt. He became very dirty and then I bathed him and since his hair was wet, decided to cut his hair. I'm glad I did since we are taking his three year pictures tomorrow morning. Today he even let me use the electric clippers for the edging of his hair. He also wanted to help sweep up all the hair, which was also awesome of him.
For lunch, we were having leftovers from last night, which Liam was not having. The only way I could get him to eat was to let him eat out of my food, and give him bites that had no morsel of bell pepper, onion or cilantro. What a pain, but he ate, and he won't be starving when he wakes.

Wednesday:
This morning we headed up to a Mom's Gathering at Butterfly Elements. While we were driving up Mopac, I said out loud to myself, "I forgot to brush my teeth this morning." Liam heard me and with deep concern in his voice asked, "You did?" I affirmed that I had and I think he tried to give me comfort when he said, "I did not brush my teeth either." He always says some of the funniest things. We get there and meet a couple other mamas, and Liam and Annabelle played around the studio chasing each other. Every now and then I'd hear Liam tell her, "Don't bite me Anbel! That's not funny!" She does bite a lot. I wonder what's with that.
We headed out a little after 12:00 and both the kids napped in the car on the way back down to south Austin. It was almost an hour, so I felt it safe to get through one of the grocery stores, so we went to Sunflower. Liam started out walking next to the cart, then he wanted it, then he had to potty, then wanted to stay out of the cart....and it went on and on. We were glad to get home since Liam was 'SO hungry!' as he said over and over. We had lunch of yellow watermelon, clementines and Liam had a PBJ. I think I'm going to end this whole short order cook thing I have going on and just make everyone eat the same thing. It's so much simpler that way.
Liam laid down for a bit while Annabelle napped, then after she woke, we headed out to HEB to do our shopping there. After buying all our groceries and getting to check out, ringing every thing up, I realized I had forgotten my wallet. So...I left the groceries, loaded the kids, drove home, got my wallet, went back to HEB, unloaded the kids, checked out, loaded them back up, went home and unloaded everything. Wow, that was a pain in the you know what.
This all delayed our dinner, which we were having Beth and Ari over for, and so they came over a little early so she could wrangle the kids while I finished up the Lazy Enchiladas. The kids played and at dinner, Liam and Ari had funny conversation about Ari's school.
"Did you go to time out, Ari?" Liam asked.
"Yes, I did. I threw a truck down."
"You did?!?" Liam responded with shock in his voice.
"Yeah."Ari sheepishly replied.
"Ok." Liam said just before he went back to playing.
We all thought the conversation was really amusing. After dinner, we picked up toys and said good-bye to our friends since it was a quarter to 9:00 and bedtime was well passed for the Phy kids.
Liam went to bed with no fight.
